Bush Box
A “bush box” (also known as a bush deck or logging deck) is a heavy-duty, customized truck bed used in harsh off-road and forestry environments. It outfits a cab-chassis truck with rugged, all-weather storage and workspace solutions designed for logging, mining, or remote industrial sites.
Trucks operating in the “bush” require highly specialized, self-contained setups. Bush boxes give tradesmen and contractors a mobile workstation that can carry high-volume fluids, heavy-duty machinery (like welders or cranes), and tools without compromising their ability to navigate rough logging roads and remote terrain.
Key Features:
- Heavy-Duty Cabinets: Full-height or under-body storage cabinets to keep heavy tools and equipment safe from debris and weather.
- Integrated Fuel & Lube Tanks: Custom-built fuel tanks (often for red dyed diesel) and oil systems built directly into the deck, usually positioned between the front cabinets.
- Heavy-Duty Roll-outs: Slide-out tool drawers and bolt bins designed to withstand massive wear and tear.
- Cab Guards & Bumpers: Heavy duty headache racks (cab guards) to protect the rear window, paired with heavy-duty custom front and rear bush bumpers.
- These can be built with steel or aluminum.
This Bush box mounted on Ford F350 has some extras added including front cabinets, tool box roll-out and a fuel tank.
